Meet the team
Alan Bellamy - Optometrist
Alan is the owner and principal Optometrist here at Bellamy Eyecare Leicester. Caring for your eye health is what Alan is passionate about, and he enjoys the freedom that owning his own business gives him when it comes to providing the best for his patients. When Alan is not in practice he can often be found up a mountain with his wife Tracey, who you may have seen at our Irthlingborough branch, or in his garage restoring his classic two stroke motorbikes.
Gail Crooks - Optical Assistant
Gail has recently re-joined us after a ten year break to bring up her family. And it’s great to have her back!
When Gail is not at work she enjoys baking the most superbly artistic (and tasty) cakes.
She is also reponsible for our fantastic window displays – a very talented lady.
Shelley Harper - Dispensing Optician
Shelley joined us in September and is a fully qualified dispensing optician with over twenty years’ experience. She lives not far from the practice although when she speaks, which she does a lot (!) you’ll pick up her south Yorkshire accent.
Music is her main interest outside of work. She manages to find time to sing in a choir and also plays trombone in a brass band. I’ve yet to hear her play but I look forward to it when the opportunity arises.
Shelley is the most friendly, approachable and helpful of people. She is also extremely knowledgeable. If you have a particular visual task or problem, give her a call – she’d be pleased to help.
